Our Annual Paddy Whelan Tournament was held yesterday Sunday 1st of October. Eight teams competed for the Cup and Shield, four from Laois and one each from Kilkenny, Kildare, Westmeath and Carlow. In glorious sunshine Clonkill won the cup competition beating Emeralds from Kilkenny in a tight game an St. Pauls defeated Clonad in the Shield competition in an even tighter game. Nearly 150 players competed in three games on a great days hurling for all.
